The Mason County Michigan Habitat for Humanity, in partnership with God and all people of faith and good will, seeks to eliminate substandard housing in Mason County. We renovate or build new, decent and affordable housing that will strengthen individuals, their families and their neighborhoods through home ownership. Families apply to us to earn a house of their own. Once accepted into the program, our "Partner Families" work alongside our many volunteers to build their house. They put in 300 to 500 hours of "sweat" equity before earning their home, which is then sold to them for the cost of materials and any contracted work on a 20-year interest-free mortgage.
Here is where a list of upcoming events are placed.
The Habitat ReStore
The Habitat ReStore is one of the few building materials reuse centers in Michigan. Here's how it works: Habitat for Humanity accepts donations of new and saleable, used building materials such as cabinets, lighting and plumbing fixtures, doors, lumber, flooring, and windows. Some materials will be used to build Habitat houses. The rest will be sold to the public at 50-75% off the retail price.
